“Honda’s Electrifying Move: Unveiling 3 New Electric SUVs, Larger Than HR-V”

Honda has unveiled four electric concept vehicles at the Shanghai Auto Show: the e:N GT, e:N SUV, e:NS2, and e:NP2. Among these concepts, the e:N GT is not entirely new; it was first showcased a year ago as a futuristic four-door electric sedan. It appears that there have been no visible changes since its last showcase.

The e:N SUV, on the other hand, is larger than the e:NS2 and e:NP2 electric compact SUVs, which are based on the HR-V. It is likely that the e:N SUV will be exclusive to the Chinese market and could potentially evolve into a production version by the end of 2024.

The e:NS2 and e:NP2 concept vehicles are considered the successors to the e:NS1 and e:NP1 electric SUVs that Honda launched last year. These new concepts are based on the HR-V and are expected to offer some design distinctions. For example, the e:NS1 and e:NP1 featured body-colored front charging port caps and different interior layouts, inspired by Porsche and Mustang Mach-E designs.

In terms of specifications, the outgoing e:NS1 and e:NP1 had different battery options, with a 53.6 kWh battery in lower variants and a 68.8 kWh battery in top variants. Power outputs ranged from 182 bhp to 204 bhp, with CLTC ranges of up to 510 km.

The e:NS2 and e:NP2 concepts seem to take different design directions, with the e:NS2 featuring arrow-like LED elements at the front, reminiscent of Peugeot designs. Meanwhile, the e:NP2 adopts a more conservative approach, drawing inspiration from the US-spec Civic sedan.

While detailed information about these concepts is still limited, Honda aims to introduce production versions of both the e:NS2 and e:NP2 by 2025.

It’s important to note that these electric SUVs are primarily intended for the Chinese market, and there is no immediate indication of their availability in other regions, such as India.
