Dubai Police Adds 100 Audi EVs to Their Exotic Car Fleet – A Green Shift in Law Enforcement

Dubai Police has recently acquired 100 Audi RS e-tron GT electric vehicles (EVs) as part of their ongoing efforts to embrace electrification in their fleet. The purchase agreement was signed at the Dubai Police Officer’s Club in a ceremony attended by senior officials. These Audi EVs feature the distinctive green and white livery, which is synonymous with Dubai Police vehicles and adds a unique touch to the force’s fleet. The decision to introduce these electric vehicles is aimed at enhancing security and improving traffic operations within the city. Major General Al Ghaithi emphasized that the advanced technologies and high-performance capabilities of the Audi e-tron GTs will contribute to traffic safety and efficiency on major roads.

The Audi e-tron GT is renowned for its impressive performance and cutting-edge technology. It comes equipped with an 83.7 kWh lithium-ion battery and a dual electric motor setup, delivering exceptional power output. In the GT trim, it offers 522 hp, while the RS version boasts a peak power of 637 hp. Both variants feature all-wheel drive and can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, establishing them as among the fastest EVs globally. This addition to Dubai Police’s fleet reflects a transition towards practical and sustainable options for law enforcement, even amidst their collection of luxury sports cars, including Lamborghinis and Bugattis. While these high-performance vehicles grab attention, factors like practicality and cost-effectiveness are also essential considerations for police fleets. Maintaining and utilizing luxury sports cars for law enforcement purposes may have limitations in certain emergency scenarios.

In summary, Dubai Police’s acquisition of 100 Audi RS e-tron GTs underscores their commitment to embracing electric mobility and advanced technologies for law enforcement. These EVs are expected to enhance security and traffic operations in the city, all while adding an eco-friendly dimension to their diverse and luxurious fleet.
