Harley-Davidson’s electric sub-brand, Livewire, has been generating considerable buzz since its debut. After the initial Livewire One in 2019, the Livewire S2 Del Mar was unveiled in May 2022. Bookings for the S2 Del Mar Launch Edition began in the same month and sold out within just 18 minutes. The regular S2 Del Mar is expected to launch soon, and ahead of its official release, pricing details have been revealed. The Livewire S2 Del Mar is priced at $15,499 (approximately Rs. 12.71 lakh), with deliveries starting in July 2023 in the USA.
The electric sub-brand had initially announced an MSRP of $16,999 (approximately Rs. 13.94 lakh) for the S2 Del Mar in September 2022. The updated price of $15,499 makes the S2 Del Mar approximately $1,500 cheaper than the previously stated prices. Bookings for the S2 Del Mar can be made for a nominal fee of $100. While pricing details are now available, full specifications of the S2 Del Mar are yet to be disclosed, with further information expected in June 2023.
The Livewire S2 Del Mar will also be available in Europe, with the company opening a European booking portal for the S2 Del Mar Launch Edition on April 27, 2023, at 4 PM CET. The Launch Edition will be limited to just 100 units in Europe and will feature the Himalaya White shade with hand-applied graphics that reportedly take five days to complete. European deliveries are set to begin in September 2023, with bookings now open at 100 Euros.
While the S2 Del Mar’s full specifications have not been released, some details have emerged. The electric bike features a mid-mounted motor producing 184 lb-ft (249 Nm) of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96.56 km/h) in 3.1 seconds. The battery is rated for a range of 110 miles (177 km) on a single charge. The S2 Del Mar weighs 195 kg, making it lighter than the Livewire One, which weighs 249 kg but offers a longer range of up to 146 miles (234 km). Charging from 20% to 80% with a level-2 charger takes 75 minutes. While power and battery capacity details are still undisclosed, the Livewire One is equipped with a 15.5 kWh battery pack.
The Livewire S2 Del Mar will be available in three colors in the USA: Nimbus Gray, Nightfall Blue, and Asphalt Black. However, the India launch of the Livewire S2 Del Mar is not expected at this time.
