Maruti EVX: A Glimpse into the Production-Ready Electric SUV Set to Challenge the Creta EV

“Maruti EVX: A Glimpse into Suzuki’s Electric Future”

Maruti is venturing into the world of electric vehicles with the eagerly anticipated EVX electric SUV concept, showcasing an entirely fresh design language for the brand. This marks Suzuki’s maiden foray into fully-electric vehicles, and based on spy shots, here’s a sneak peek of what the EVX could look like.

Maruti’s Electrifying Debut

The EVX electric SUV is Maruti’s first electrified offering, and it’s clear that the design language is as electrifying as the vehicle itself. With sharp and edgy lines, it exudes a futuristic aura that’s bound to capture attention on the road.

Front-Fascia Finesse

At the front, the EVX sports a closed grille adorned with the Suzuki logo at its center, framed by a bold chrome bar. The chrome bar seamlessly connects with LED DRLs that flank it, and these DRLs feature a distinctive triple ice-cube signature. Just below, you’ll find LED headlights nestled in a small pocket.

The lower bumper stands out with a black finish and an upward extension, reminiscent of Tata’s ‘Humanity line.’ Circular fog lights and silver faux skid plates add character and a hint of ruggedness.

Sporty and Stylish Profile

The side profile of the EVX reveals a harmonious blend of sporty and stylish proportions. A thick C-pillar lends a sense of strength, although it might remind you a bit too much of the Jeep Avenger. Test mules were seen with 10-spoke silver-finished alloy wheels, but this render amps up the wheel design for a swankier appearance.

Additional features include squared-off wheel arches, a shark fin antenna, and bold side body cladding that exudes muscularity and reduces visual bulk. The black roof creates a floating effect and complements the silver roof rails for an overall dynamic appearance.

From Concept to Production

While concept vehicles often flaunt flamboyant design elements, the production-spec EVX render retains the essence of the concept while adopting a more practical design suitable for mass production.

Powertrain and Range

Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki EVX concept originally showcased a substantial 60 kWh battery pack, surpassing the capacities of most compact electric SUVs like the MG ZS EV and Mahindra XUV400. Maruti claimed an impressive range of approximately 550 km on a single charge. However, the production-spec EVX is expected to offer a still impressive range of around 450 km.

Future Launch and Global Presence

The global debut of the Maruti EVX is anticipated in 2024, with an India launch scheduled for 2025. India may also become a key manufacturing hub for the Maruti EVX, potentially exporting it to other countries.

Upon its India launch, the Maruti EVX will join the competition against upcoming electric SUVs like the Creta EV, Seltos EV, Tata Curvv, and more.

As Maruti embraces electrification, the EVX signals a promising electric future for the brand, combining style, innovation, and environmental consciousness.
