“Volvo C40 Recharge Electric SUV Hits Indian Roads: Specs, Features, and Competition Unveiled”

The Volvo C40 Recharge electric SUV was launched in India in September 2023, and deliveries have commenced. Here are some key details about the vehicle:


The Volvo C40 Recharge features headlamps with Thor’s Hammer-shaped LED DRLs, a redesigned tailgate, new reverse lights, and dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels.

The vehicle has a distinctive design with LED elements over the tailgate and plastic cladding on the sides.


Inside the C40 Recharge, you’ll find a vertically-stacked 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, sleek AC vents, a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, heated/ventilated powered front seats with driver-side memory function, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, a 360-degree camera, and more.

Other notable interior features include dual-zone climate control, a Harmon Kardon sound system, and connected car technology.

Battery and Range:

The C40 Recharge is built on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform and is equipped with a 78 kWh battery.

It has a dual-motor setup that produces a combined power output of 408 hp and 660 Nm of torque.

The SUV offers a WLTP-certified range of 530 km on a single charge and an ICAT-certified range of 683 km.

Using a 150 kW DC charger, the battery can be charged from 0-100 percent in half an hour.

The C40 Recharge can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.


In the Indian market, the Volvo C40 Recharge competes with electric vehicles like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.

With its impressive range, powerful performance, and luxurious features, the Volvo C40 Recharge is positioned as a strong contender in the premium electric SUV segment in India.
