Hyundai i10 Electric: A Glimpse into the EV Revolution
The global automobile industry is in the midst of an electric revolution, with new electric vehicles (EVs) emerging alongside converted models based on existing internal combustion engine (ICE) cars. In this digital rendition, the Hyundai i10 Electric offers a premonition of what’s to come. Hyundai, a leading automaker, is actively investing in and developing new-age EVs. The Hyundai IONIQ 5, which has already received widespread acclaim and prestigious awards, is a prime example. The IONIQ 6 electric sedan is set to follow soon, with the IONIQ 7 full-size electric SUV as the flagship EV in Hyundai’s lineup. However, Hyundai also has plans to cater to the lower end of the market with affordable electric cars.
A Digital Vision of the Hyundai i10 Electric
This digital rendering, created by the renowned digital artist SRK, envisions an electric version of the successful Hyundai i10 hatchback. The front of the i10 Electric features a sleek LED headlamp cluster against a black background, with a distinctive LED light strip running across the width of the hatchback just above the sealed-off grille area, adorned with a 2D Hyundai emblem.
Blue lighting elements are subtly integrated into the headlights and a blue LED light strip surrounds the area above the bumper. The concept boasts horizontal LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) in the location where fog lamps would typically be found. The bumper’s contours add a touch of sportiness to the overall design. Moving to the sides, the i10 Electric showcases aerodynamic alloy wheels, black side skirting with blue accents, black outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), and black B and C pillars. In essence, this rendition presents a compelling electric iteration of the i10 that could potentially make it to production.
European Launch and Hyundai’s Global Electrification Strategy
Reports suggest that this electric model is slated for a launch in Europe with prices estimated at around €20,000 (approximately Rs 18 lakh). Additionally, Hyundai has ambitious plans to introduce six new EVs in India by 2028. This aligns with the company’s global electrification strategy, where Hyundai aims to sell millions of electric cars and invests in hydrogen fuel cells to achieve carbon neutrality in the coming decade.
As the automotive industry undergoes this transformative shift toward electrification, innovative electric renditions like the Hyundai i10 Electric serve as an exciting glimpse into the future of sustainable mobility.
